Comparisons of second-screen apps almost always list features and stop at the catalog price in dollars. For someone buying in Brazil, that number is not what actually leaves the bank account. This page does the math all the way through: currency conversion, billing model, and what happens when the product is a physical device that has to be imported.
In the end, the difference that weighs the most is not the feature list. It is paying once, or paying every year, forever.
How much each one costs in Brazil
| Product | Catalog price | In reais | Over 5 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| WiPhoneMonitor Basic, Lifetime plan | R$ 199.90 | R$ 199.90 | R$ 199.90 |
| WiPhoneMonitor Professional, Lifetime plan | R$ 599.90 | R$ 599.90 | R$ 599.90 |
| Duet Starter, annual subscription | US$ 39.99 | about R$ 200 per year | about R$ 1,000 |
| Duet Air, annual subscription | US$ 49.99 | about R$ 250 per year | about R$ 1,250 |
| Duet Pro, annual subscription | US$ 79.99 | about R$ 400 per year | about R$ 2,000 |
| Luna Display, physical adapter | US$ 89.99 | about R$ 450 plus shipping and import duties | the same amount, one-time payment |
| Mirage Pro, annual subscription | US$ 59.00 | about R$ 295 per year | about R$ 1,475 |
| Mirage Pro, lifetime | US$ 199.00 | about R$ 995 | the same amount, one-time payment |
Catalog prices collected in October 2026 and converted at R$ 5.00 per dollar. Dollar amounts also go up with the IOF tax on international purchases and with the card's exchange spread, which vary by bank. The exchange rate changes every day, so treat the figures as an order of magnitude.
The detail that changes the math: Luna Display has to be imported
Luna Display is not an app, it is an adapter that plugs into the Mac's port. That means an international purchase of a physical product: shipping, import duty and the state ICMS tax on the purchase value plus shipping. The final price in Brazil ends up well above the R$ 450 in the table, and the delivery time starts to depend on customs.
It also does not work with iPhone, only with iPad.

Which one to choose
All five options put your Mac screen on another device. The decision is not about which one has the most features, it is about how much each one costs over the years and which devices it accepts.
Sidecar: free, if it works for you
It comes with macOS and costs nothing. On the other hand, it only accepts iPad, requires the same Apple Account on both devices and leaves out Macs older than 2016. If it shows up on your Mac and does the job, use it. If it does not show up, check the seven most common causes before buying anything.
Duet Display: established, and expensive in the long run
It is a mature product, with years on the market and a large user base. Its weak point is not the app, it is the bill. It costs from US$ 39.99 to US$ 79.99 per year, charged in dollars, every year, for as long as you keep using it. Over five years that adds up to R$ 1,000 to R$ 2,000, and the amount rises with the dollar. When the subscription ends, access ends with it, and the years you paid for leave nothing behind.
Luna Display: iPad only, with an import process ahead
The one-time payment is a point in its favor, but the product is a physical adapter that has to be brought into the country, with shipping and taxes on top of the catalog price. And it does not work with iPhone.
Mirage: it has a free version, and requires the newest system
It is the most recent competitor and the most similar to WiPhoneMonitor. It brings the Mac screen to iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro and other Macs, and it has a free version. That is a real point in its favor.
The free version streams at 720p, without Retina, at 30 frames per second, one window at a time and without encryption, and it finds the Mac through the same Apple Account. Retina, more windows, AES-256 encryption and the other connection methods are part of Mirage Pro.
The other limit is the system: the App Store listing requires macOS 27, a Mac with an M1 chip or later and iOS 26 on the iPhone. WiPhoneMonitor runs from macOS 14 and iOS 17.6, and works with Macs and iPhones that do not get the newest versions.
On the paid plans, the Annual one is a tie: Mirage Pro costs US$ 59 per year, about R$ 295, and Professional costs R$ 299.90. On the Lifetime plan, Mirage Pro costs US$ 199, about R$ 995, and Professional costs R$ 599.90, about R$ 395 less, in reais and with Pix. If you do not need Retina, the Basic Lifetime plan costs R$ 199.90.
WiPhoneMonitor: the math that adds up
The Lifetime plan of the Basic edition costs R$ 199.90, once, in reais, with Pix. That is less than one year of Duet Pro. Compared with the Annual plan, the Lifetime plan pays for itself after two years of use, and from the third year on you pay nothing more, ever.
And price is not the only reason. It works with iPhone and iPad, does not ask you to sign in to an Apple, Google or Microsoft account, runs on any Mac with macOS 14, accepts Pix, and support is in Portuguese, directly from the person who wrote the app. See the three cases where it is the only way out.
The bottom line. If Sidecar does the job, use Sidecar. If it does not, the real choice is between paying every year in dollars or paying once in reais. For the price of two years of subscription, you get a lifetime WiPhoneMonitor license and never pay again. Start with the free 7-day trial and decide with the app running on your Mac.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Annual and Lifetime plans?
The Annual plan is valid for 12 months and does not renew automatically. When it expires, the streaming button is disabled and you decide whether to renew. The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment and does not expire. In all three editions, the Lifetime plan costs twice the Annual plan, so it pays for itself after two years of use and never charges again after that.
Is Duet Display better than WiPhoneMonitor?
It depends on what you need. Duet Display is a mature product, with years on the market and features that WiPhoneMonitor does not have yet, but that we are working to add. WiPhoneMonitor's focus is to offer a secure, fast and reliable app that meets users' needs where the competition does not, at a competitive price. In practice: Duet charges a subscription in dollars every year, and WiPhoneMonitor has a Lifetime plan in reais that pays for itself in two years and never charges again.
Is it better to subscribe or to buy the Lifetime plan?
If you use a second screen with any regularity, the Lifetime plan. A second-screen app subscription costs R$ 200 to R$ 400 per year, every year, and the amount follows the dollar. The Lifetime plan of WiPhoneMonitor Basic costs R$ 199.90 once: less than a single year of the most expensive subscription on the market, with no further charges.
Does Luna Display work with iPhone?
No. Luna Display turns an iPad into a Mac screen, and it also works between two Macs, but not with iPhone. It also requires a physical adapter, which has to be imported.
Can I pay with Pix?
Yes, on both plans, Annual and Lifetime. Credit cards are also accepted. Outside Brazil, use a card, because Pix is a Brazilian payment method in reais.
